Leadership
Adjacent Science is led by Ben Johnson. Ben is Professor of Practice in Research and Innovation Policy at the University of Strathclyde and heads the science policy work of the Centre for British Progress. From 2019-2024, Ben was senior policy adviser to the UK Minister of State for Universities and Science and later the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology. He has held a number of roles in both the civil service and in UK research funding agencies since 2009.
