Leadership
Adjacent Science is led by Ben Johnson. Ben is Professor of Practice in Research and Innovation Policy at the University of Strathclyde. From 2019-2024, Ben was senior policy adviser to the UK Minister of State for Universities and Science and later the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology. Before then, he held a number of roles in both the civil service and in UK research funding agencies since 2009. Ben undertakes occasional work for think-tanks including the Tony Blair Institute and the Centre for British Progress.
